Overview

The Abbasite Khalif Abou Jafar Al-Mansour built this mosque in 761 (144 hijri). It is located 500 meters from the Jamratu-l'Aqaba. This mosque consists of walls in the shape of a rectangle without a ceiling.

The mosque witnessed the first agreement established in Islam. In this place, in the year 621 (12 Hijri), the agreement between the Prophet and the companions from Medina was agreed upon. Twelve men from Aws and Khazradsh (two famous tribes in Medina) converted to Islam and promised to protect the Prophet. A year later, the second agreement was made with the Prophet. In the same place 73 men and women converted to Islam.
